The publications contained within this package were produced as an outcome of the National Middle Schooling Project, managed by the Australian Curriculum Studies Association and funded by the Department of Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs. The publications within can be purchased separately or as a package. The materials provide an overview of the project and its key findings as well as documenting examples of school based reform that have directly addressed the needs of young adolescents and which have been found to make a difference. This report edited by Phil Cormack, Bruce Johnson, Judy Peters and David Williams is the culmination of the work of the Authentic Assessment Research Circle, conducted by six schools working collaboratively with four university researchers from the University of South Australia. These materials have been produced by seven National Schools Network schools working in partnership with colleagues from two Universities as part of the National Middle Schooling Project.
